Filed under: Presentations — Darren @ 8:36 am

On June 7, we’ll be treated to a talk on printer information. This should be very informative for the digital workers!

  1. The printer information presentation has been replaced with “50 Ways To Improve Your Photography” by Barry Daniel. In effect the talk/demonstation will probably cover about seventy tips – or more. This will be a sort of “crash course” in photography – covering very briefly most aspects of photography. Some of the things it will cover are: How to avoid failures, film loading, camera care, batteries, choice of camera and lenses, lens hoods, filters, exposure & equivalent exposures (spot, matrix & centre weighted), film (B&W, colour print and colour slide), picture taking, camera shake, where to focus, depth of field, backgrounds, subject matter, lighting, perspective, 3D illusion, landscapes, composition, cropping pictures, not just taking pictures but making pictures, flash (pop up, on camera, off camera, slave flash, fill flash, red eye), macro/close up with and without flash, what makes a successful picture, what the judges look for, do’s and don’ts, print mounting, slide presentation. A small number of slides will be shown – slides which illustrate points talked about.
