KSCC Updates

Filed under: Admin, Competitions, Events — Darren @ 2:40 pm

Just a quick update for club members:

The Oct/Nov issue of the FCC’s f/stop newsletter is now online. Download it to see what’s new.

We need prints for the Photo Rally exhibition at our annual Christmas social evening on December 7. You can enter up to two prints in each of your usual competition categories (A and B grade colour and monochrome, plus small prints), mounted as we do for normal comps. Images must have been taken in the Kiama district in the past 6 months (i.e. since June). There will be lots of interesting prizes, so get shooting!

Also get your prints ready for our annual exhibition at the Old Fire Station Gallery, Kiama. Please bring up to three of your framed images along for collection at the Christmas social evening on December 7. The dates for the exhibition will be announced in early November.

I’ve finally gotten around to uploading our 2005-2006 club programme. Sorry for the delay!

Upcoming: Photoshop Tuition by Diane Epoff

Filed under: Presentations — Darren @ 6:00 am

Well-known local photographer, artist and Adobe Photoshop whizz Diane Epoff will be giving us some Photoshop tuition at the club meeting on November 2. Diane has taught photography, run Photoshop classes, and judged our print and slide of the year competition, so she has an enormous breadth of experience we can tap into.

I’m sure everyone will learn a new tip or two on this night.

Filed under: Competitions — Darren @ 6:00 am

Our October 19 club competition has the theme of Photojournalism and Social Documentary.

Photojournalism entries must be story telling pictures as seen in the news media and periodicals. They may include documentary, sport, on the spot news, or human interest.

Social Documentary entries must be concerned with the portrayal and interpretation of society encompassing both human and non-human subject matter.
