Summit Inks and Paper
Barry Daniel has recently discovered Summit inkjet inks and paper. Says Barry:
Their Premium Glossy Photo Paper is superb – as good as anything else I have seen – comes in packets of 20 for $6 (30c ea.) – can be bought at a mobile stand in Warrawong shopping complex – near the Warehouse and Clints/Liquidators stores. They have the same product in A4 size also. If you are buying, note they also sell a Summit paper of lesser quality than Premium Glossy. I an going to email them to see if they have A3. Few people use A3 so they do not normally carry/display it. They have a stand at the computer fairs – just inside the front door, on the left, at Unanderra and likewise at the Uni. The Warrawong stand does not sell Summit inks.
These Summit inks (new – not refills) have a better write-up and apparent packaging than all the other ones I have seen. You can buy other brands a few dollars cheaper but they don’t look as good..Our Epson 1270 and 1290 printers use the same inks T007 and T009 (col). Best price elsewhere for the pair is $70 ~ $75. Summit sell a pair for $25 (or $ 22.50 if you have a ‘free’ membership card – as I do) – and they will post free. I have done the same A3 print twice, in succession, one with Epson ink, the next with Summit and can see no difference. I have so far done 12 A3 prints off my current Summits and they are some distance off empty..so I guess they hold as much – or perhaps more? – ink than the Epsons. All these prints are superb.
